Short bio
From 1992- 1996, I studied French literature in the university of
Athens and Dance in the National Dance School of Greece (ΚΣΟΤ)
I continued my studies at the Northern School of Contemporary Art
(N.S.C.D) in Leeds, Uk, where i obtained my BA Degree in
Performing Arts in 1998, followed by a Post graduate
development Award (BTEC) in extended contemporary,
ballet techniques and in the field of Dance in education in 2000.
I worked as a dancer in England, Portugal and Germany and later on
as well as a choreographer, choreographic assistant and a teacher.
in 2006, an event forced me in a way off stage
and into a reevaluation and reinvention of myself.
i naturally shifted from the performing arts into the visual arts
as if it had always been my true language .
My focus is on figurative painting, although sculptural work has been
a great aspect of my artistic process.
Alongside painting, I develop graphic artwork, which in some respect,
is the initial perceived form of the idea or the concept,
which I interpret into figuration.
My focus is far from any attempt for realistic representation.
It is rather a drive to embody intuitive concepts, pieces of insights
and metaphysical experiences in a human form;
as if to make the invisible visible and ground it on the canvas.
My wish is to establish a link between worlds
and invite the viewer to tune in,
to become a witness and by this action,
validate and bring into life all that he/she sees and resonates with.
