Genesis – Sculpture Alithies (Greek for "Truths"), 2006–2008
These early sculptures were made upon emotional memory — the body abstracted toward its essence, distilled from heavy material into a lighter, upward energy. It is a movement from the ground up. The paintings and codexes that followed would move in the opposite direction: grounding abstract, intuitive concepts down into embodied form. Between sculpture and painting, two opposite currents — one rising, one descending — that together hold the whole of the work.
